The purpose of this course is to offer guidance to health care professionals for providing immediate care patients/residents who may be endangered by an injury or sudden illness, such as falling, a heart event, difficulty breathing, or choking.

Learning objectives: 1. Identify the goals of first aid. 2. Identify how to apply the basic first aid interventions for a variety of specific situations
Continuing education: 1.0 CE hours for certified nursing assistants; long term care department heads; and other health care disciplines.
