Nurse Aide/Medication Aide

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) will gain knowledge and skills related to critical thinking.

The nursing assistant will be introduced to nursing process and her role in using that problem-solving approach for the person served.

The nursing assistant will enhance knowledge and understanding of Parkinson’s Disease and learn how to care for the person living with it.

The nursing assistant will enhance her understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to COPD and how to care for the person served who has COPD.

The nursing assistant will enhance their understanding of how pressure injuries form, ways to prevent them, and how to care for individuals with these injuries.

A stroke is a medical emergency which occurs when blood flow to the brain is disrupted in some way. Prompt treatment can be lifesaving and may increase the likelihood of successful recovery. This course is designed to provide the nursing assistant with basic knowledge and understanding of stroke, including warning signs and tools to best care for a resident who has experienced a stroke.

The nursing assistant will gain a better understanding of the types, purpose, complications, and care of feeding tubes and a nursing assistant’s role in care of individuals with feeding tube.
