Objectives:
- Identify those persons who are at risk for development of diabetic foot ulcers;
- Explain Charcot Foot and how it relates to diabetic foot ulcers;
- Describe the symptoms/characteristics of diabetic foot ulcers;
- List assessment and testing methods used with diabetic foot ulcers;
- Explain two common classification systems used in grading diabetic ulcers;
- List 5 debridement techniques;
- Identify appropriate off-loading techniques used to prevent or assist in healing diabetic foot ulcers.
