Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) occurs in around 4.4% of U.S. adults. While there is plenty of historical documentation for the disorder, the cause is unknown. This course will help health care workers understand the symptomology and treatment of ADHD, especially in the adult population.

Purpose: The participant will have enhanced knowledge of ADHD disorder in children, adolescents, and adults.

Objectives:

  1. Discuss ADHD in children and adolescents; 
  2. Identify three types of ADHD in children and adolescents and symptoms for each; 
  3. Discuss treatment options for ADHD in children and adolescents; 
  4. Discuss ADHD in adults; 
  5. Identify symptoms associated with adult ADHD; 
  6. Explore treatment practices for adult ADHD.
