Purpose: To enhance the nurse’s ability to utilize ethical principles in nursing practice.
Objectives:
- Discuss various ethical theories and principles within a framework for nursing practice;
- Describe common ethical dilemmas and ethical methods of decision making;
- Examine how application of ethical principles influences the provision of health care;
- Identify all the provisions to the code of ethics for nursing;
- Apply the American Nurses Association’s code of ethics to help manage ethical-related questions.
