Nurses working with older adults will review and update their knowledge of how medications can affect the elderly.

Purpose: This course will teach us how medications work differently in the aging population. It reviews statistics regarding the prevalence of prescription medication use in this population, discuss how drugs impact the older body (specifically pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics), and briefly discuss the potential of pharmacogenomics.
