MGR105 - Drug-Free Workplace: Two Hour Supervisor Training (Iowa)
To provide information in accordance with Iowa law that a supervisor needs to develop and/or implement a substance abuse prevention program, including drug and/or alcohol testing, in the workplace setting.
Purpose: To provide information in accordance with Iowa law that a supervisor needs to develop and/or implement a substance abuse prevention program, including drug and/or alcohol testing, in the workplace setting.
Objectives:
- Provide guidelines for making a decision for drug testing in your facility;
- Assist in the development of a comprehensive prevention program designed to detect and deal with substance abuse issues;
- Increase the supervisor’s ability to recognize evidence of employee alcohol and other drug abuse;
- Help improve skills in documentation and corroboration of employee alcohol and other drug abuse problems;
- Provide guidelines for investigating situations related to substance abuse;
- Improve the supervisor’s skills in validating and confronting employees with substance abuse problems;
- Increase the supervisor’s knowledge of the basic requirements for drug testing.
