Purpose: To provide a framework of strategies to create successful organizations through positive, meaningful leadership.
Objectives:
- Outline reasons why employee retention is critical to a successful organization;
- Identify strategies to retain and develop a staff that will help the organization grow;
- Define employee “engagement”;
- Discuss and develop strategies to assist managers in engaging staff through: recognition and appreciation, communication, managing conflict strategies, developing a sense of team spirit, creating a continuous learning environment, goal setting, organizational involvement and, meaningful work;
- Describe the effect on patient care in relationship to longevity of caregivers.
