Purpose: To increase the participant’s understanding of latex allergy.
Objectives:
- List common health care equipment and common household items that may contain latex.
- Describe three types of reactions to latex.
- Explain who is at risk for latex sensitivity or latex allergy.
- Discuss the diagnosis and treatment of latex allergy.
- Summarize aspects of a latex-safe patient environment.
- Discuss proper documentation for the latex sensitive or allergic client.
