To enhance the participant’s knowledge and understanding of medications used to treat COPD including how they work, methods of administration, and side effects.
Purpose: To enhance the participant’s knowledge and understanding of medications used to treat COPD including how they work, methods of administration, and side effects.
Objectives:
- Discuss the different types of medications prescribed to treat COPD and the actions that make them therapeutic;
- Explain the common methods of administration of COPD medications;
- Discuss possible common side effects associated with the different medications used for COPD and the associated precautions recommended to limit the risk of side effects;
- Discuss some of the common devices used for administration of COPD medications including the device sanitation processes.
