The certified medication assistant will review and learn new information about caring for the patient who has had a stroke.
Purpose: The certified medication assistant will review and learn new information about caring for the patient who has had a stroke.
Objectives:
- Review the structure and function of the nervous system;
- Describe what happens when a stroke occurs;
- Identify the risk factors and warning signs of a stroke;
- Differentiate between the different types of stroke:
- Identify the effects of stroke;
- Discuss medications used with the stroke patient;
- Discuss the appropriate care of the stroke patient.
