The nursing assistant will enhance her understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to COPD and how to care for the person served who has COPD.
Purpose: The nursing assistant will enhance her understanding of the mechanisms that contribute to COPD and how to care for the person served who has COPD.
Objectives:
- Discuss COPD;
- Explain structures of the respiratory system and how respiration occurs;
- Describe symptoms of COPD;
- List problems that can affect the person served with COPD and action steps (interventions) the nursing assistant can take to reduce those problems.
