Purpose: The CNA will better understand the needs of and care for the dying resident. In addition, post-mortem care will be discussed.
Objectives:
- Describe the stages of dying;
- Discuss your role in meeting the spiritual and emotional needs of the dying resident and their family;
- Explain the physical care needed by the dying resident;
- Describe the signs and symptoms that occur as death approaches;
- Provide postmortem care.
