Purpose: Employees working in health care facilities will increase their understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements regarding lockout/tagout.
Objectives:
- Discuss the OSHA standard for lockout/tagout;
- Increase understanding of the importance of controlling hazardous energy sources;
- Identify the OSHA performance requirements for controlling hazardous energy;
- List the steps in the energy control procedure;
- List the requirements for lockout/tagout devices;
- Discuss what needs to be included in an employee training program.
