Purpose: To enhance the participant’s knowledge of HIV and AIDS.
Objectives:
- Describe and differentiate between HIV and AIDS;
- Explain how HIV can be transmitted;
- Identify opportunistic infections/diseases that may occur with the HIV patient;
- Discuss drug treatment and clinical management of HIV/AIDS;
- Discuss methods to prevent transmission of HIV/AIDS and infection control procedures to use in the workplace;
- Explain exposure management.
