Healthcare professionals will gain knowledge regarding basic principles of pharmacology to include pharmacokinetic processes, several drug classes, and some of the commonly used drugs within those classes.
Purpose: Healthcare professionals will gain knowledge regarding basic principles of pharmacology to include pharmacokinetic processes, several drug classes, and some of the commonly used drugs within those classes.
Objectives:
- Describe the role of receptors related to medications;
- Discuss the four components of pharmacokinetics;
- Describe how medications are classified;
- Identify some medications from commonly seen classifications, as well as their actions, uses, adverse reactions and side effects, contraindications, and implications.
