NUR114 - Stroke (3.0 HR)

Purpose: Healthcare professionals will review and learn new information about caring for the stroke patient.

Objectives:

1. Describe what happens when a stroke occurs; 
2. Identify what the risk factors and warning signs of stroke are; 
3. Differentiate between the different types of stroke; 
4. Identify the effects of stroke; 
5. Discuss exams and tests used to diagnose a stroke; 
6. Discuss the appropriate care of the stroke patient; 
7. Describe various treatment regimens; 
8. Discuss various stroke research studies.
