Purpose

HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus, progressively kills or damages the cells of the body’s immune system inhibiting the ability to fight infections and certain cancers. This course helps health care workers understand the progression of the disease, at-risk populations, HIV prevention methods, Texas-specific laws regarding HIV, and treatment options.
