Purpose: The nurse will better understand atrial fibrillation and how it can be treated and managed.
Objectives:
- Define atrial fibrillation;
- Explain the heart’s electrical system;
- Discuss atrial fibrillation, including types of AF, causes, risk factors, signs and symptoms, and complications;
- Explain diagnosis and treatment for AF;
- Identify ways to prevent AF.
