ALL103 - Communication: Persons with Special Needs (1.0 HR)

Purpose: To improve communication with patients with special needs.

Objectives:

1. Discuss the challenges and strategies for communicating with patient with hearing and vision impairments; 
2. Discuss the guidelines for communicating with patients with aphasia; 
3. Discuss techniques for communicating with patients who are disoriented or confused; 
4. Discuss appropriate communication methods and how to prevent miscommunication when talking with patients with cultural and language differences; 
5. Explain the normal communication process.
