The nursing assistant will enhance his/her knowledge and understanding of stroke including how to care for the person served who has had a stroke.
Purpose: The nursing assistant will enhance his/her knowledge and understanding of stroke including how to care for the person served who has had a stroke.
Objectives:
- Describe the structure and function of the nervous system;
- List the risk factors for stroke;
- Identify symptoms of stroke;
- Explain the different types of stroke and how they occur;
- Identify effects seen when a person has had a stroke;
- Explore how to care for the person who has had a stroke, including treatment options and goals.
