NUR204 - The Nurse Leader and the Organization (1.5 HR)

Purpose: The purpose of this course is to examine the role of the nurse leader within the organizational framework.

Objectives:

1. Discuss the importance of strategy within an organization; 
2. Explore the concept of organizational culture; 
3. Examine professional responsibility and accountability in the context of organizations; 
4. Explore the philosophies of hierarchical and relational partnerships; 
5. Identify the significance of quality of nursing within organizations for better patient outcomes; 
6. Discuss shared governance; 
7. Contrast and compare different quality models to inform effective leadership of continuous improvement in health care delivery.
