The purpose of this course is to investigate the application of the team within the context of nursing leadership and improve the nurse’s knowledge of effective leadership skills.

Objectives:
- Evaluate effective nursing leadership teams and their impact on health care environments;
- Discuss the importance of interdisciplinary and interprofessional teamwork in the health care environment;
- Discuss barriers to effective communication;
- Examine the concept of problem solving and conflict resolution;
- Explore the theory and skills of assessment by nurse leaders;
- Discuss the contemporary concept of managing conflict;
- Evaluate the differences between the problem resolution process and negotiation.
