Purpose: Health care professionals will increase their understanding of anxiety disorders, their symptoms and how they are treated.
Objectives:
- Define anxiety;
- Explain what causes anxiety disorders and how they are diagnosed;
- Discuss anxiety disorders in general;
- Describe the physical and emotional symptoms of anxiety disorders;
- Describe the types of medications used to treat anxiety disorders;
- Discuss cognitive and behavioral therapies;
- Describe dietary and lifestyle changes that will help decrease anxiety.
