Participants will better understand the relationship between the use of antibiotics and clostridium difficile infection (CDI).
Purpose: Participants will better understand the relationship between the use of antibiotics and clostridium difficile infection (CDI).
Objectives:
- Explain the incidence and prevalence of CDI.
- Discuss the pathophysiology of CDI.
- Identify the signs and symptoms of CDI.
- List laboratory tests used to diagnose CDI.
- Describe the steps in preventing the transmission of CDI.
