NUR135 - Diabetes: Type 2 (2.0 HR)

Purpose: The health care professional will enhance their knowledge of type 2 diabetes and treatment for the disease.

Objectives:

1. Discuss type 2 diabetes; 
2. List the risk factors for type 2 diabetes; 
3. Discuss the symptoms of type 2 diabetes 
4. Explain the symptoms of hypo- and hyperglycemia; 
5. Discuss exams and tests for type 2 diabetes; 
6. Explore medications used in the treatment of the disease; 
7. Discuss care of the diabetic patient.
