Purpose: Upon completion of this course the participant will understand Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ALS) and associated symptoms, causes and treatments.
Objectives:
- Discuss the clinical course of ALS.
- Describe persons affected with ALS;
- List and discuss the symptoms and causes of ALS;
- Explain how ALS is treated;
- Discuss nursing care of the ALS patient;
- Discuss hospice care of the ALS patient and family;
- Explore ALS research being conducted.
