Purpose: Health care supervisory personnel will refresh their knowledge related to recognizing substance abuse in the workplace. Objectives: 1. Recognize evidence of employee alcohol and other drug abuse; 2. Improve skills in documentation and corroboration of employee alcohol and other drug abuse problems; 3. Investigate situations related to substance abuse; 4. Improve skills in validating and confronting employees with substance abuse problems; 5. Discuss referral of employees who abuse alcohol or other drugs to Employee Assistance Programs or to a resource file maintained by the employer.
