To raise the participant’s awareness of risk factors for musculoskeletal disorders in the home health care setting and how to prevent them. To provide managers/supervisors in the home health care setting with recommendations regarding training, equipment, and procedures that can be implemented to prevent clients and employees from developing musculoskeletal injuries.

Objectives:
- Discuss musculoskeletal disorders;
- Explain the impact of musculoskeletal disorders on the home health care industry;
- List and discuss risk factors for developing musculoskeletal disorders;
- Define ergonomics;
- Discuss ways that musculoskeletal disorders can be prevented;
- Identify ergonomic assistive devices;
- Explain ways that employers can prevent musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace.
