CNA202 - CMA: Stroke Care (1.5 HR)

Purpose: The certified medication assistant will review and learn new information about caring for the patient who has had a stroke.

Objectives:

1. Review the structure and function of the nervous system; 
2. Describe what happens when a stroke occurs; 
3. Identify the risk factors and warning signs of a stroke; 
4. Differentiate between the different types of stroke: 
5. Identify the effects of stroke; 
6. Discuss medications used with the stroke patient; 
7. Discuss the appropriate care of the stroke patient.
