Following this course, you will be able to identify the prevalence of mental illness in the United States, define and possess knowledge of mental illness and substance-related and addictive disorders, and determine what is involved with an interdisciplinary approach to care. This course will address the psychosocial needs of individuals with behavioral health issues and conclude which elements contribute to achieving the highest standard of care for such individuals. It also addresses substance abuse related to opioid use for pain management.

Dialysis is a medical intervention that filters the waste from the body to extend the person’s life when the kidneys can no longer do so. This self-study will help the health care worker understand the causes of chronic kidney disease and renal failure, what dialysis is, the necessity of dialysis, the different types of dialysis, and the implementation of dialysis at home and in long-term care facilities.
